Neuromuscular Therapy

Whan your back, neck, hip, shoulder or knee hurts it can ruin your day. Pain will limit what you can do. You don't have to feel old.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a system of massage techniques that were developed to  treat soft tissue pain and dysfunction. NMT is great for treating neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, low back pain, sciatica, leg pain or restless leg syndrome.  NMT evaluates and treats 5 common causes of myofascial pain and dysfunction.

First, your posture is evaluated to determine any postural distortions that may be contributing to your pain.

Second, a range of motion evaluation is used to determine limitations in joint function.

Third, muscles are evaluated for hyper-tonicity that can lead to ischemic tissue, thus causing pain.

Fourth, muscles are identified that contain trigger points.

Finally, your soft tissue is evaluated and treated for any areas that may be causing nerve entrapment.

Once these areas are evaluated and precisely treated your body can return to homeostasis and heal.  These techniques, when performed by a skilled, experienced Therapist can be applied without causing pain!

You can live a pain-free life. Don't let anyone tell you "it's just old age, learn to live with it."

Trigger Point Therapy

Do your musles feel all knotted up? Does it hurt when you move? We understand what is wrong with your body and know how to give you relief.

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress or trauma. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release your trigger points. This process can be uncomfortable at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative. These techniques do not have to cause pain during treatment. With communication between the patient and the therapist, your level of comfort can be maintained during the treatment.

Myofascial Release

Do you have old injuries, sugeries or scars that haven't healed completely? These can limit your lifesyle and activity level. You don't need to suffer. We understand how to give you a more functional, active life.

Myofascial Release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance your entire body. It does this by using gentle massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. It is important to always check the fascia when treating neck pain, back pain or any mechanical dysfunction in the body.  Direct Myofascial Release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain. Myofascial Release is used on scars and fascial adhesion in your body that are a results of injuries, traumas or surgeries.

You don't need to limit your ablilty to enjoy life.

Deep Tissue Massage

Do you need more than a light massage? It feels good to have your muscles worked when getting a massage.

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissues in your body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after this treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

You can feel like a millon dollars when you get the tension out of your muscles and allow them to move easily again.

Total Body Balancing

Have you seen multiple therapists and doctors with no relief? Have you only gotten treatment to the body part that hurts with no results? We understand what will help your body heal and restore your daily function. We are experts at dealing with the "Tough Cases".

Total Body Balancing is a full body evaluation and treatment that assesses the cause of your pain. By evaluating the whole body, the therapist can determine if other areas of dysfunction are causing your back pain or neck pain. During the evaluation, the therapist will be assessing protective muscle spasms, joint stiffness, fascia, scar tissue and swelling.  Using a "Global, Local, Focal" treatment protocol we treat the primary dysfunctions that are preventing your body from healing.  Once these mechanical barriers are removed, you can return to a pain free, functional life style.

Never give up on finding relief. This treatment can give you hope again.

Positional Release Technique

Muscle spasms can be very painful. It is amazing how musch your muscle can hurt. Your therapy does not have to hurt!

Positional Release Therapy is like magic! We can stop your pain by putting your body in a "position of comfort" to stop the muscle spasm. This technique is Pain-Free and gentle. No popping or cracking the bones.

Positional Release Therapy, (PRT) was developed by Dr. Lawrence Jones, D.O. (Strain and Counter strain). This technique aids in the evaluation and treatment of soft tissue dysfunctions. Tender points on your body are used to evaluate protective muscle spasms.  The most severe tender point is treated by placing your  body or body part into a position of greater comfort, thereby relieving the tender point, pain, joint hypo-mobility, fascial tension, and protective muscle spasm. This technique alleviates both articular and soft tissue dysfunctions in the body, thus restoring proper pain-free movement. PRT is a gentle way to treat your acute neck and back pain.

It is an effective, pain free technique to stop your pain.  Your pain relief can be this simple and fast.

Muscle Energy Technique

Do you avoid Chiroprators and Physical Therpaists because you don't like your body being cracked? There is a less agressive way to loosen your joints and help their alignments.

Muscle Energy Technique will loosen up tight, stiff joints without pain or fast, aggressive techniques. No popping or cracking the bones.

Muscle Energy Technique (MET) was developed by Dr. Fred Mitchell, Sr. D.O.. MET is a direct technique in which the therapist utilizes the muscle barrier concept to position the patient's body or  body part at their restrictive barriers. A gentle isometric contraction is used by the patient to normalize the joint dysfunction. MET will help reduce protective muscle spasm, fascial tension, pain, increase joint mobility, restore proper joint biomechanics and postural alignment. MET is great for relieving back pain, neck pain , pain between the shoulders, or sciatica.  You will see immediate changes in your pain and improved function. The goal of MET is to correct motion restrictions and improve  your functional range of motion.

You will be happy to move again wirhout pain!  Your body will Thank You.
